Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (New York, 28 March 1986), better known by her stage name Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, activist and fashion designer. She has also dedicated part of her life to acting. Born and raised in New York City, she studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart School and briefly attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University until she left school to focus on her musical career. He broke into the rock scene on Manhattan's Lower East Side and signed a contract with Streamline Records in late 2007. At the time she was working as a composer for this label, her voice caught the attention of the artist Akon, who had her sign a contract with Kon Live Distribution.
