Event Description

If you're somewhere between the ages of 18-36, you're probably sick of hearing the word "Millenial" and all of the stereotypes and generalizations that come with it. "Lazy," "Entitled," "Disloyal." How do we as lazy, entitled, disloyal professionals stand a chance to be successful in a workplace full of Gen X'ers and Baby Boomers?

YPOS is hosting a panel discussion to address just that with experts spanning all generations to discuss the percieved gaps in work styles and values and potential strategies to overcome them. There will be networking, hosted drinks and appetizers, followed by our panel discussion.

Doors open at 5:30 for happy hour and networking with the discussion starting at 6:30. This is a 21+ event, bring your ID!

About our panel:

Alex Charnas

Alexandra (Alex) Charnas holds a BS in Mathematical Sciences from Carnegie Mellon. She has experience as a financial and business strategy analyst and has helped grow the analytics teams for two startups before starting her own venture about a year ago. As CEO of Zibbli, Alex's responsibilities range from developing go-to-market strategy to product development to financial reporting. Born towards the beginning of the Millennial generation, Alex has a firsthand experience not only being a Millennial, but working with and for Millennials.

Eric Doerr

Eric was most recently the Chief Product Officer for Porch.com, helping lead Porch to make home services great for both homeowners and professionals. Prior to Porch, Eric worked at Microsoft for more than 20 years in a variety of roles in General Management and Product Management - working on Identity and Security, Digital Imaging, Health and Personal Finance. Eric went to school in upstate New York at the University of Rochester and studied very little (ostensibly Philosophy). In his spare time, Eric likes to build stuff (cabinets, etc) and enjoys reading about dystopian futures and the apocalypse - which used to be more relaxing until life started to imitate art.

Mikaela Kiner

Mikaela is a native Seattleite who’s spent the last fifteen years in HR leadership roles at Seattle based companies including Microsoft, Amazon, PopCap Games and Redfin. In 2015 she founded uniquelyHR, no nonsense HR for startups. Mikaela enjoys being creative and solving problems in a space leaders love to hate. She is an ICF credentialed coach working with executives and high potential women leaders.
