In Frances-Anne Solomon’s elegaic A Winter Tale, six Black men, all patrons at Miss G’s Caribbean TakeAway Restaurant, form an ill-fated support group in an attempt to salvage their broken spirits and beseiged community, following the local shooting death of a young child.

CaribbeanTales is co-presenting a series of films at Island Soul which will take place at the Harbourfront Centre on August 4th - 6th. 

On Sunday, Aug 06, 2017 at 4:30pm - 6:30 pm #CTFF2017 presents A Winter Tale, written, directed and produced by Frances-Anne Solomon featuring Canadian actors Peter Williams, Valerie Buhagiar, Michael Miller, Ryan Glascow, Lucky Ejim, Finalndia Cassellas, Peter Bailey and Caribbean stars Leonie Forbes and Dennis "Sprangalang" Hall.

The film also features an amazing performance by our late great friend and colleague the actor P. Barrington. 

It premiered at the ReelWorld Film Festival where it won Solomon the Outstanding Canadian Feature Film Award, as well as Special Mention in the Outstanding Screenplay category - followed by many international Awards. 

It subsequently screened at the Montreal World Film Festival, Atlantic Film Festival, Bite The Mango Film Festival (Closing Night), Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival (Opening Night, Best Feature Award) & The New York African Diaspora Film Festival (U.S. Premiere - Opening Night).
