The Board of ANZACC Midwest invites members and friends to support the Australian Wildfire Relief Fund at the Down Under Soirée – celebrating Australia Day and Waitangi Day – at LondonHouse Chicago | Curio Collection by Hilton on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 7:00pm to midnight.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception featuring beats from Down Under by DJ RJ Pickens followed by a seated Australian and New Zealand-themed dinner showcasing Aussie beef courtesy of Teys USA and Aussie wines courtesy of Negociants USA | Winebow Imports and Old Bridge Cellars. It will include the Australia-US Midwest Award for Outstanding Achievement presented by the Australian Consul General in Chicago, and raffle draw boasting roundtrip tickets to Australia or New Zealand courtesy of United and Air New Zealand benefiting the Australian Wildfire Relief Fund and local non-profit Collaboraction. Not to mention dancing with Arlen Music Productions’ live band, Entourage, of course.

About ANZACC Midwest's Partnership with United to Support the Australian Wildfire Relief Fund

High winds and drought conditions are causing wildfires to spread rapidly through Australia, prompting mass evacuations, destroying homes and killing millions of animals.

ANZACC Midwest has partnered with our Gold Business Member United Airlines in supporting those impacted by the bushfires by donating to GlobalGiving. The Australian Wildfire Relief Fund, created by GlobalGiving's Disaster Recovery Network, will support immediate relief efforts for people impacted by the fires in the form of emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine. Funds will also go toward long-term recovery assistance, helping residents recover and rebuild.

All donations to this fund will exclusively support wildfire recovery including, but not limited to, the following nonprofit organizations:

• Australian Red Cross Society
• Team Rubicon Global
• Local foodbanks
• Foodbank Australia
• NSW Wildlife Information Rescue & Education Services (WIRES)

• 7:00pm to 8:00pm – Cocktail reception featuring beats from Down Under by DJ RJ Pickens, a full top-shelf bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, photo opportunity with the Australian, New Zealand and US flags, and raffle ticket sales.
• 8:00pm to 10:00pm – Seated three-course Australian and New Zealand-themed dinner, Australia-US Midwest Award for Outstanding Achievement, and raffle draw boasting four roundtrip tickets to Australia or New Zealand.
• 10:00pm to 12:00am – dancing with Arlen Music Productions’ live band, Velocity, business networking in the lounge, and an Australian and New Zealand-themed photo booth.
